The GGT test is specific to the liver. There are a number of things with the liver that can cause elevated GGT. Alcohol will cause the test levels to be high. Liver damage due to alcohol consumption will cause the test levels to be high. I would suggest that you redue the test, and don't drink for a few days or a week,(consult your doctor on this time) before you have the test done. I think you will find out it was just the alcohol influencing the test. But see your doctor!
