elevated bilirubin

by momof2cherubs, Aug 18, 2009 08:42AM
Hello, I am a 38 year old white female, recently had an exam for life insurance.  the results can back with a bilirubin level of 1.9 (flagged as high), i have had some internal tenderness during sexual intercourse and my urine does have a strange odor to it.  Any ideas?  i will be calling my general practitioner for an appt but any ideas as to what could all be going on in the meantime?
Thanks!

I think a liver panel and a hepatitis test would be appropriate. That is usually standard procedure with an elevation of bilirubin. The bilirubin could also explain your urine. By the way, is the color normal?

Well, that's a good sign - in my opinion. Dark colored urine is sometimes associated with liver issues.
