elevated blood bilirubin

elevated blood bilirubin

I was put on CPAP for sleep apnea in May of 2008.  My weight was at a peak of 220 lbs.  I take high blood pressure meds (10 mg. lisinopril/day).  At my physical last week,  I was down to 180 lbs. and my blood pressure was 104/64.  My Dr. wants to check on me in 3 months to see about possibly discontinuing the blood pressure meds.  I am still dieting because I am 5' 6" and want to get to 160 lbs.  I discontinued the CPAP last February because with the weight falling off, my wife said I was no longer snoring and gasping for breath at night.  What concerns me is that at my physical this week, my Dr. told me I had a slightly elevated blood bilirubin level (it was either 0.9 or 1.9 .  I can't remember which but he said it was only slightly high).  My liver enzyme levels were normal and my Cholesterol was 181.  My good cholesterol was in the good range and my bad cholesterol was below what it was supposed to be.  My RBC counts and HCT were normal.  My urine did not have an elevated bilirubin level.  I am 45 years old and my Dr. is very happy with my progress in getting my weight under control.   I am wondering about that elevated bilirubin level especially since my enzyme levels and cholesterol are normal.  Would my dieting and blood pressure meds possibly cause this?  Is there anything I could include in my diet that would lower the bilirubin levels or are there some foods I should stay away from?  I'm not jaundiced and I feel great.  Should I worry about this?
