elevated liver kidney enzymes possible hellp syndrome complications

Hi there,  I had pprom at 24 weeks, had betamethasone shots for baby's lungs, and mg to stop labor.  Labor was held off until 29 weeks.  I had an emergency c-section due to baby being frank breech.  My blood pressure was perfect the whole pregnancy, and no other symptoms of hellp.  They determined the pprom was a result of a connective tissue disorder I have (Ehlers-Danlos syndrome)  5 weeks post-partum I became very ill.  High fevers that would not respond to tylenol or ibuprofin.  Extreme nausea and vomiting, and high liver and kidney enzymes, and a low platelet, and wbc count.  At the time the doc who admitted me didn't know what was wrong.  He did blood cultures, other blood tests for lupus etc, and a CT of abdomen.  Then had an ultrasound of liver several days later.  The diagnostic tests showed no cause.  2 months later my liver and kidney enzymes were still elevated, so I was sent to a GI doc who told me he thinks I had developed hellp syndrome post-partum, and the enzymes will eventually normalize.  Well, it's been 6 months and my liver and kidney enzymes are still elevated.  Have had them checked monthly.  They go up and down, but never normal.  GI doc did some blood tests for autoimmune liver disease which came back normal.  So, now I'm going back to GI tomorrow.  My regular doc already told me that the GI guy will most likely need to do a liver biopsy.  We'll see tomorrow.  I personally don't think I had hellp.  From my research most cases are complicated with high BP which I never had during all of this.  Also my OB said he doesn't think I had it either because the liver enzymes usually get very high, and then slowly over several weeks normalize, not bounce around for months like mine have.  I also have celiac disease, was diagnosed almost 5 years ago vie endoscopy and small intestine biopsy.  Any thoughts on what you think it may be, or if you've ever seen anything similar is greatly appreciated   Thank you,

Sarah
