Hello and hope you are doing well.

Elevated bilirubin levels cause jaundice, which causes a yellowish discoloration of the skin and mucous membranes. The cause for the raised levels needs to be determined. This is done with the help of blood tests, ultra sonogram and if need be, biopsy of liver will help to clinch the diagnosis. If you can get back to me with the diagnosis, I will be able to elaborate further.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

How are you able to test your bilirubin anytime you want? Elevated bilirubin normally indicates an irratated liver. Further lab testing is needed to determine other liver enzymes. Medications, alcohol  and poor diet are common cause for elevated liver enzymes. See a doctor ASAP.
