inconclusive liver hemangioma

by OpeySue, Sep 29, 2009 10:16AM
I am a 28 yr old woman whos mother was recently diagnosed with stage 4 breast and bone cancer at age 51. I had been having pain on my upper right side of my abdomen and was taken to the ER where they found 2 conclusive hemangiomas and a 3rd to be inconclusive was sent for follow up MRI all hemangiomas had grown as well as the 3rd from 3mm and 5mm to 7 and 10 mm and the 3rd had grown to roughly 14/15 mm from 5mm. was told even though the 3rd was "inconclusive" not to worry and just have liver function test ever 3 months. and would maybe revisit MRI in 6mos to a yr. I have noticed a jaundice color to my skin as well as have noticed that even after one glass of wine or one beer the next day is a horrible "hangover" should I look for a second opinion on this?

Yes, i would definitely get a second opinion. If your showing signs of jaundice, this can be caused by a number of disorders and diseases. See a more competent physician and have the appropriate test conducted.

Be well.
