is it a liver disease?

About 4 months ago I developed a strange itchy feeling all over my body.  It started shortly after a risky encounter.  I woke up in the middle of the night extremely itchy over my entire body.  After about a day the itch went away but seemed to be localized in the scrotum area.   Its been 4 months and since then the scrotum itch went away after about 3 weeks but ever since that time I get real itchy skin when I engage in physical activity such as running, working out or even just sweating a little.  If I rub lotion on my body the itching seems to go away for the most part.  I'm thinking it could be disease related or just dry skin ( weather started to change ie. got cold).

1.) Does this sound more disease related due to my liver (from hep A, B, C)?

2.) why type of doctor should I go to. Will my general physician be able to determine the problem?

I have also had an itchy red butt crack, pain in stomach, and blood in stools ( not sure if these have anything to do with it)

Thanks for the help

thank you so much for all of your help I really appreciate it.  I have actually gotten many of the STD tests done including a herpes iGg test which came back negative after 4 months which from what I have heard is pretty accurate.  I think you may be right with the fungus thing and I should look into that a bit more.  Thanks again for the help and I'll be sure to play it safe for now on.  its a shame it takes a scare to get you to realize mistakes.

Greetings - I think I answered this in the other forum (one of the heps)

The itch you now speak of sounds related to a fungal infection and not hep.  I have read that a disease like wilsons can cause fungal infections (jock itch and that itchy split crack you speak of) - but so can other reasons.

If your "itch" is liver related - then likely your gonna have discomfort and an annoying fullness or general pain on your upper right gut area - and often you will also feel debilitating fatigue, dark pee (like watered down coke) pale poops (not dark brown), and a few other tell-tale signs - but some peeps w liver trouble really feel "nothing"

Best to ask your doc - and you can also be tested for most STD's in most metro areas - and the cost is little to anything... and in-general, play safe friend, and it never hurts to have a hep A and B vaccine, and arm yourself with knowledge...

Cheers
