liver failure

my nana has liver failure through alcoholism and she is sleeping alot for 16 hours a time is this normal or is this the end stages of her illness

My best friend who is only 50 is in end stage liver failure.  She is currently on dialysis as well.  I have been told by her sister that she doesn't have very long to live.  The doctors said they are suprised she is not in a coma already.  She goes to get her abdomin drained every two weeks.  Yet sometimes she sounds so great I can't believe this is her end and all from drinking Vodka.  Is there no hope?

Is she in a hospice or being attended by a health professional?
