It suggests a liver problem. ALT is the most liver specific enzyme and AST is probably the second. Enzymes are released when cells die. While your ALT does reflect some type of liver problem it is not really that high. I think you should make an appointment with a hepatologist (liver specialist) or a gastroenterologist (digestive disease specialist) to diagnose exactly what is going on. However, I do not think there is any reason for panic but I think you should address this problem sooner rather than later.
