As many others say, we are not doctors. To give a prognosis is not possible because we don't have the fancy medical degrees. What I can say is that I have been in your situation. My father had liver cancer in 2004. Before I tell you my story, I just want to let you know that by posting on here asking for information, you may not get the information you want to hear.
In November of 2003, my father was starting to get pain in his abdomen area where the liver is located. He was diagnosed with cirrosis long before and at this time, the cirrosis was worse. The next plan given by the doctor was to have a liver transplant. In March of 2004 we went in to see a transplant doctor. That is when they saw the cancer and said they would not do a transplant because of the cancer and the size of the tumor. They offered to turn him over to Hospice. That is not what he wanted. My dad passed away in July 2004, just over three months to be exact. I can't say that everyone with liver cancer can't beat it, but I know that my dad was at a bad stage and had many things working against him. He had hep C, Cirrhosis, and no gall bladder so he had a disadvantage.
I wish you and your Dad the best, as well as your family. I hope your Dad turns out to be fine and can overcome this battle. I will definitely keep you in my prayers. If you need to talk or ask questions please feel free to contact me.
God Bless!
ALWAYS hold out hope! and secondly, many advances have been made in treatment of cancer of late, and there is always transplant as an option...
Hang in there...
