not sure

he past two weeks I've noticed my urine has a smoky/musty odor. It's not cloudy or unusually dark.......I am 5 weeks post partum, also suffered from Obstetric Cholestasis I've not ate any of the top contributors to unusual smelling urine lately and I am not experiencing the tell all symptoms of. UTI. I usually drink between 70 to 80 ounces of water a day as I breastfeed. Could it be possibly the beginnings of a bacterial infection? I had read that its could be liver failure? Any input is appreciated...I have an appointment tomorrow with my Dr

Hello and hope you are doing well.

Your symptoms could be due to the urine being concentrated. Consume more fluids. But sometimes an urinary tract infection can cause dark colored urine, without the other symptoms of an infection. Its unlikely to be due to liver failure, with liver failure you should have jaundice, loss of appetite, nausea, edema and sometimes disorientation. It could sometimes be due the supplements you may be taking. An urine examination and liver function tests may help to diagnose the cause. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
