reasons for ggt and alk. phos.elevation?

by abby62201, Aug 19, 2008 07:39PM
Husban'd's liver alk. phos. are somewhat on and of. He is 65 yrs. old and retired recently. He does not drink at all nor never has. He is on dilantin and mysoline daily for several petit mal seizures 30 yrs ago. Gastroenterologist did a liver sonogram and was normal. Dr. said elevations are not from meds as they are not that elevated. The readings are GGT- 164, Alk. Phos.-143. Several mos. ago the readings were just a bit lower. Our new G.P. said to go back to the specialist which we will. What is your opinion. Husband feels fine, appetite good. Several mos ago iron was also elevated to 228. Appreciate your opinion. Thank You.
