toxic liver

I am a 29 year old male who drinks everyday maybe 6-7 drinks.  A couple of weekends ago I went out with friends and spent a weekend drinking way too much.  On Monday i woke up with a painful liver.  The doctor says I have hepatitis or toxic liver and if I don't drink for a couple of weeks my liver will go back to normal.  What does this mean for my future drinking.  Can I drink 2 drinks a day or is all drinking now banned.  The doctor seems to think it is okay to go back to drinking moderatley.  Any help would be appreciated.

If you liver heals itself, as it should in most cases, it is OK to have a drink or two.

Now, knowing what I know, If I were you, I would have a thorough liver check-up, to make sure it has really healed back and, whatever the results,   stop drinking definitively.

I do not think you are an alcoholic, but from your post I am sure you are abusing alcohol.

Believe me, you do not want to risk getting cirrhosis  or liver cancer, no matter how low the odds seem to be.
