worried

I don't know where to ask, but sometimes I have a pain in my upper right side near where my liver is.  It goes from sharp stabing to dull and achey (achy).  Then other times nothing at all any one know, this all started when I had my gallbladder out 3 years ago and it is still hurting. 4 days after my surgery I had to go back for an ERP because they thought they left gallstones, but since they first surgery I have had this pain

Have you discussed this upper right side pain with your doctor.  You should discuss this with your doctor and ask to have some blood work done to determine what might be causing this and go from there that is what I would do if I was in your situation. There are also doctors on here that will answer your question for a certain fee so that is another option if you can afford it. I hope you find the answers to your problem. Take care.

I'm sorry your having this issue.  Have you had any tests done for this pain?  I've been experiencing the same issue and am now going through the ringer with drs. The last dr. has suggested post-cholecystectomy syndrome because she has no idea.   I was just given a medication for this to try.  Even though I am reluctant my husband said to at least try it .  It can't hurt.  But I say all medications have side effects. This is a category some doctors seem to put you in if you say you had had your gall bladder removed.  Mine has been 2 1/2 years.  I would be interested to know what you are being told by your doctors.  I'm determined to get to the bottom of it.  At times the pains can almost double you over, it definitely stopps you in your tracks.  I have had two doctors look at me and say the area of pain is my liver but that my liver function is fine so it must be fine.
