when patients have this many adenomas the concern is for malignant transformation. If there is any concern about this in the remaining adenomas then you should have a transplant. Liver function can deteriorate after a large resection and patients can be left with cholestasis, ascites and an increased risk for infection. You may want to get a second opinion for your peace of mind.
they were adenomas. yes they have said i may need a transplant. now as everytime i eat food my stomach swells so badly that it goes that tight i have to vomit, so now im just not eating food at all. i went to my local dr who said the swelling is from the resection as my liver isnt functioning properly but my surgeon said she didnt think it was from that.. any ideas in what i can do? also the pain is still in my upper ribs which is getting a little worse everyday but im not due to go for my mri till may..
was it hepatocellular carcinoma? is a liver transplant an option? your symptoms could be due to the resection Something is confusing here.
