Alkaline Phosphate

by GKE, Oct 02, 2009 03:24PM
My 15 yr old son had a blood test to begin taking accutane for acne. The results showed a level of 293 for alkaline phosphate level. Has there been an incorrect reading?? They told me the normal levels are 40-150.

this is an abormal value although it can be somewhat elevated in children because of bone growth.  If it is elevated due to a liver issue, the GGTP would also be elevated.
