Elevated Liver enzymes ALT and AST

Elevated Liver enzymes ALT and AST

I am about 85 pounds overweight and 47 years old, and female.  I have elevated liver function levels of ALT (56) and AST (40).  My triglycerides are fine, but my cholesterol is 226. I have no Hep or Cirrhosis. Two ultrasounds of my liver a few years apart show nothing wrong at all.  My Gastroenterologist is having me go for more blood tests next week.  I drink, but not much, and I take pain relievers but not to excess.  What is wrong?  Is it my weight or something else?  I am confused.  Do I have liver disease?  Will I need a transplant?  Thank you for any help you can give me.

i do not think you need a transplant.  almost definitely you have fatty liver or NASH.  It may in large part be due to your weight
