End Stage Liver disease and nuropathy

My husband has end stage liver disease (NASH) and awaiting transplant. He has been complaining of nuropathy in both feet and now started symptoms in his hands. None of his doctors are aware of nuropathy as a side effect of liver disease...and want him to see a Nurologist..he is also having a type of seizure (partial) we have thought that this was encephalopathy, but does not behave the right way...after about 3 hours he seems to come back, without tx. Could you please tell me a bit more about the nuropathy and liver disease. What possible tx there could be for this.

neuropathy can be seen with certain liver disease as alcohol-related and HCV.  Its much most common in the feet.  sometimes medications can cause this, such as flagyl.  he may also have a neurpoathy that is unrelated to his liver disease.  Treatment depends upon what the presumed cause is.
