HCV prognosis

For post transplanted HCV patients how long does it normally take for the ALT/AST rise to occur after transplant?  What is the outlook generally for these patients?  How does it affect them?

the "rise" may never come.  If the ALT increases and a liver biopsy shows recurrent HCV, than the timing of HCV recurrence can be predictive of outcome.  Recurrence within the first couple of months of the transplant is typically a portent of a more severe recurrence.
