Ingested 5900 mg acetaminophen and alcohol

by preclick00, Sep 02, 2008 03:36PM
I'm sorry this was the only forum regarding the liver.  I was drunk and made a very bad decision to drink a bottle on Nyquil.  When I sobered up I realized that there is acetaminophen in Nyquil, after doing the math I realized that I had ingested 5900 mg.  Do I need to go to the hospital?  Could i potentially get liver failure from ingesting this amount?  The internet is full of information, but you cannot always trust your sources.  I hear that it takes closer to 10,000 mg to cause a toxicity in the liver that could kill you but was the fact that I had been drinking heavily lower this number?  I know what I did was extremely reckless and stupid.  I just want to know if I'm going to be ok.  This occured on Sunday at around 1:00 p.m.  currently I have diarrhea and my stomaches feels agitated.
I have never done this before and avoid taking Acetaminophen because I am a heavy drinker.  Do I need to go to the hospital?
