Liver Encephalopathy

by Hi5, Oct 03, 2009 03:23PM
My son is awaiting a liver transplant & has bouts of encephalopathy.  He is taking all the appropriate drugs for this. During these bouts he eats very little.  Would a supplement drink like Boost be appropriate for him to drink?

absolutely.  we encourage liberalization of oral intake--in fact taking such a supplement with every meal is a good diea.
