Regarding Acetaminophen + Alcohol

by tberplat, Jun 09, 2009 09:57PM
I have to apologize first off for asking this off topic question. A question that no doubt will frustrate those of you who would give anything to have a healthy liver, such as mine. I understand the audacity of my question in such a forum- I am genuinely sorry.

On to my situation- Just under 72 hours ago, I ingested 1.5g of acetaminophen after a 3 hour period where I ingested 5 normal sized beers. I rarely drink, but the 4 days previous to my ingestion of the acetaminophen, I had between 2-4 beers each night. I am an otherwise healthy 26 year old male, weighing 185 lbs.

Since the night of ingestion, I have had no alcohol/acetaminophen at all. Do I have anything to worry about? I have been asymptomatic of any hepatic failure since ingestion. At which point can I stop worrying about damage? I cannot go to a hospital, currently, unless absolutely necessary,

Again, my apologies, and I thank you.

i think you should get blood tests ASAP, at least through a physicians's office.  You do not become symptomatic until its well far advanced.  drinking alcohol can definitely potentiate the toxicity of the tylenol.
