Stents

Hi,
My 2year old daughter had her liver transplant at 9 months old. Since transplant we have had a billiary t tube in place that goes through two strictures. One of them at the anastomosis! We have had a good run this year since a week ago where she developed, colangitis (cholangitis)! A week of antibiotics, Gentamicin, vancamicin and amoxyicillan. She started to have bright red blood in her urine after day 3 of receiving antibiotics that lasted over night. And again on day 5 over night. Her kidney blood results were normal. Ultra sound showed her left kidney enlarged by 1 cm. ANd no kidney blockages. No bacteria grew from a urine sample this was taken on day three not on admission. But a bacteria grew in a bile sample!
Could you give me an idea on what could of caused this please?
Thanks.

the hematuria may be a UTI or could be related to vitamin K deficiency related to the antibiotic usage.  the bile cultures are often contaminants and are almost always (+) in the presence of long standing biliary tubes.
