Tylenol ODs and Hep C

by JennyDots, Sep 07, 2009 12:47AM
I have schizoaffective disorder and recently found out I have Hepatitis C, which I've probably had for many years. Three times I overdosed on Tylenol and was in ICU, once stopped breathing, liver enzymes very high, but recovered. But now I'm terrified. Since I did this while already having liver disease... and since the treatments for Hep C cause depression, so I might not be able to take them... and since I'd never be able to get a transplant... do I have any chances at all?

i do not think think the tylenol overdoses will have any effect on the HCV, although the HCV could make you more susceptible to hepatotoxicity. You should definitely see a gastroenterologist with regard your HCV with regards it warrants treatment.
