blood tests

i recently had platelet associated glycoprotein (direct & indirect) tests done during a tranjugular biopsy. my platelet count has remained critically low since transplant(sept.2005) during this procedure i was given 2 bags of platelets but they only rose to about 48,000. what are these tests for and is there any way to raise platelets? they will not treat my hepc until my count is up. thanks for your help.

i would still treat the HCV even with a platelet count of 48,000.  there is a new medicine named eltromopag which can increase platelets.  i am not sure of the significance of those tests.
