curative attempt or transplant?
Would a curative attempt make since if a person has hep c and cirrhosis?  Would new hcc develope after the removal of the first?  What is the protocol for making these decisions?

although the 5 year recuurence of HCC after resection is about 75%, it is still worth attempting if one can obviate the need for transplantation during that period of time.  the philosophy that one should have is to avoid transplantation as long as possible.
