fatty liver, cyst, and hemangioma

Hi, After MRI I have been told I have hemangioma on the liver and my doc advised me to stop taking oral contraceptives.  Three month later, after reporting a lot of pain on right side of abdomen, I was sent for ultrasound which indicated fatty liver and an cyst on left lobe liver.  I am waiting to see specialist which will take months and I am in a lot of pain.  Is there anything I can do while I'm waiting to reduce the pain?

Thanks

acetaminophen for the pain is OK.  hemangiomas are not caused by oral contraceptives nor are cysts.  adenomas and FNH lesions in the liver are. If pain is due to the cyst or hemangioma then surgery is sometimes done.  You should not have to wait months to see someone.  What type of specialist are you to see/  Where do you live?

this is a very small cyst and should not be causing abdominal discomfort.  Try your best to see someone much sooner.

Thank you for your reply.  I live in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada and the wait is very lengthy to see a specialist.  I have been waiting since June to see an internal medicine specialist with whom I had an appointment scheduled for next week, however, I recently discovered that my family doctor had referred me to a cardiologist (in error, I presume) and so my appointment was canceled and I have to start the waiting game all over again.  The cyst is 2.3 x 1.6 cm.  Is that considered large or small?  Thanks very much for your help.
