We found out my husband has cirroshis of the liver about 2 years ago due to chronic hep c. Since then he has been hospitalized because of  acitis, and  bleeding varrices in his esophagus. We were just able to get him on medi-cal. But dont know if things like liver transplants are covered we live in southern cal, but have been told many different things by the hospitals him getting a referal due to his insurance. We are concerned that its pretty serious. Any advice???Thanks

this is indeed serious and he needs to be placed on a liver transplant waiting list ASAP.  I do not think the insurance is a limiting factor.  there are liver transplant centers in cedars sinai, UCLA, UCSD, Stanford.  he should contact one of them.
