need help understanding abdomeninal ultrasound re liver results

I have just had an abdominal ultrasound which shows heterogenous liver echotexture suggesting fatty liver versus cirrhosis.  Normal liver size.  Study otherwise unremarkable.  What does this mean?  Does it mean that because the fatty distribution is, I gather, fairly even, there is no issue of cirrhosis, or what?  Blood work is also all normal for liver function.  Help!

typically an ultrasound cannot confirm cirrhosis and just suggests a heterogeneous parenchyma which can be fat or scarring.  CT scan or MRI are better studies.  It is very encouraging that the blood tests are normal.
