pain killers

My friend has had a liver transplant, I noticed on her drugs list there were paracetamol for pain. I understood paracetamol not to be taken with liver complaints, is this the case and why would she be prescribed this for pain?

acetaminophen is actually safe to take and only is a problem with overdoses.  we recommend that patients can take up to 2 grams a day total safely.  it is much better to take than NSAID which carry risks for renal toxicity and are strictly contraindicated post-transplantation.
