3mm lung nodule shrunk to 1mm

by quindi, Jun 09, 2009 06:43PM
I am a colon cancer survivor since 2007, stage 3. After my chemo treatments were completed a ct scan and x-ray showed a 3mm lung nudule in February 2008.  In March 2009 a ct scan and xray showed that the nodule has now shrunk to1mm. Yes, great news but I am confused. My question is why would it shrink on its own? Does this definitely mean it isn't cancer? My oncologist said this is a good indicator it isn't cancer. Do granulomas shrink on their own or can it be scar tissue or remnants of the toxic chemotherapy treatments? My oncologist wants me to have another scan and xray in August 2009.
