4mm noncalcified lung nodule

Years ago I got valley fever so there is a calcified nodule in my left lung. I had bronchitis in June 2013 on that x-ray it only showed my calcified nodule caused by my valley fever. In early September I went to the emergency room for chest pain after a fall. The Dr. did a chest x-ray and found a 4mm non-calcified nodule that wasn't there on the prior x-rays. I have lost my mother at the age of 37 from lung cancer. I have been a smoker for 31 yrs. My pulmonary Dr. I seen said that it is too small to biopsy or cut out, but that it is probably cancer. Should I be worried? What should I do? I am going to see an oncologist. But since all this I have had migraines since December 31st. that I can not get rid of and swollen glands in my neck.
Any input will be greatly appreciated.

My pulmonary nodule has now gone from a 4mm to a 1.3mm in 4 months I need to know if this is something I need to have biopsied. There has also been a change in the lingual and benign calcified granuloma in the left upper lobe. My glands are still swollen and I feel like someone is always choking me since they have been swollen in my neck. I am still having problems with the migraines since December 31st, 2013. I need to know what this all means please help me understand.
Thank You,

They were able to see a 4 mm nodule on a chest X-Ray?  Have you had a CT Scan?  The doctor should never have told you he/she thought it was cancer.  You cannot say a nodule is cancer without a biopsy.  Swollen glands may be an infection.  Sorry your going through this.!! Julie
