5MM Nodule in Right Middle Lob

5MM Nodule in Right Middle Lob

I am a 45 year old male who recently went for a CT scan of my abdomen and pelvis for pain in my pelvis area.  Although the vidal organs that my doctor was looking at turned out to be fine, the CT scan identified a 5.0 MM nodule in the right middle lobe (nonspecific).  The Radiologist stated "likely postinflammatory."  I never smoked and have not had a cold in the two months leading up to the CT scan.  Both my parents have smoked for more than 60 years and neither one of them have every had cancer.

My doctor's approach is to have a CT scan in 6 mos.  However, I am paranoid that it could be cancer.  Has anyone experienced a similar result that turned out to be cancer?
