Abnormal Chest X ray

My husband went for a work physical and they took chest xrays. The doctors noticed something on the first set so ordered 4 more xrays. He is now saying that around his sternum is "fullness vs prominence"...I have no idea what this means but he has ordered him to see if primary care doctor for a ct scan.. Can someone please explain to me what this means or what it could possibly be?

Fullness vs prominence on an chest Xray explains about some part of the lung that seems to solid (solids are full) and appears to be more prominent along the region of the sternum or hilar region. This space around the sternum is very important that has to be observed when routine chest Xrays are taken.Any thing that appears to be solid and very prominent can be a swollen lymph node or a cancer or just could be an odd shadow. To observe if this odd shadow is some kind of a cancer or nothing else ,a Ct scan is helpful.
Hilar region is an area present between the two lungs by the side of mediastenum where bronchial airway, bloodvessels to lungs, lymph nodes (important for metastatic spread)of lungs, nerves, cluster all together at this region. This region is very important to observe cancers in lungs which leave doctors some evidences suggesting them spread of cancer from other organs or cancers originated in lungs or other related complications. So thats the reason why doctors advice us to get a chest X ray,CT,PET scans done to observe this area.
