Adenocarcinoma of the lung

Hello,
A relative was just diagnosed with lung cancer - adenocarcinoma and was told it was Stage 0. However the doctors recommend doing nothing at this point as any attempt to remove it might result in it spreading. They suggest coming back in a year to retest it. Are there any treatment options at this stage?

Thank you

Hi there. Depending upon the stage, adenocacinoma (adenocarcinoma) lung treatment may include surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy or a combination. During early stages, surgery gives a chance for cure. Since right now this cancer is in situ, your doctor could be right in his opinion of wait and watch. Hope this helps. Take care.
