Can anyone tell me what this means?

by cindy120760, Mar 14, 2009 12:55AM
I had an A-typical pneumonia in 2002, treated at san diego veterans medical center.  They decided I have COPD.  Fine.  I recently went for a CT Scan of my chest in Boise, at the VA Medical Center and now they are reviewing films.  I picked up my medical records and they state:"  Small blebs athe lung apices.  A few calcified granulomas in each lung field, minimal increased density in both lower lung fields predominately posteriorly.  Is possible this could prepresent minimal pneumonia or atelectasis.  HERE IS WHAT I AM REALLY NERVOUS/SCARED about:
"Minimal lymph nodes in aortopulmonary window area, could be inflammatory.  Lymph Node measuring 11 CM  in size, and a 1.7 CM node in the right hilar area.  These could represent inflammatory nodes.  AM I CRAZY?  11CM is almost 8" - can lymph nodes get this big?  Also, if I am moving because of moldy apartment, would that explain the lymph nodes?  Va is moving at a snail's pace, can't believe this, but if anyone can tell me anything regarding this diagnosis please, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Cindy

I am very sorry, I do not now much about this area but will say I could amost assure you that you are dealing with a typo. I would be concerned to be safe and obtain the CT and report and have someone else read it. I would also always want a second opinion anyways right?

I know some medical agencies give people a hard time about these flms. I just set them start and tell them that yes I'm responsible for these films, basically within  a 5 year period (Florida) if medical concerns need them with this period and I can't produce them or if I have damaged them the of course I must pay for them out of my own pocket not my Insurance company because they won't cover the expense if damaged real early or they get lost or stolen.
