Could it be lung cancer?

I am a 26 year old female who has smoked for 10 years. I have had a dull aching pain in my left shoulder blade for a few months. I always feel the need to stretch my back by moving my shoulders back so that my shoulder blades are closer together. I do this quite often through out the day. When I do I hear popping in my back. I'm quite concerned about the pain. I'm worried it could be lung cancer. I don't have a cough, but I do feel like I need to clear my throat alot. I don't have any appetite loss, but some fatigue.

Should I be worried?

I don't think it sounds like symptoms of lung cancer.  But if you're worried, you should see your doctor, just in case.

The risk of lung cancer increases with the number of cigarettes smoked over time, so maybe this would be a good time to quit smoking.

Good luck

I've been having the exact same symptoms. Pain in my shoulder blades & clearing of the throat. Also noticing my voice keeps disappearing even though my throat doesn't hurt. This all started in April. I quit smoking on September 1st but these symptoms aren't going away. I'm worried too.

I have very similar symptoms but have been smoking for longer.  I'm scheduled for an x ray next week just in case, but wonder how its been going and if you've seen anyone.

Best,

I have had the same symptoms,  I also quit smoking in September.  I know our bodies go through a healing process when we quit, but if this does not go away soon, I guess a dr. appt. will be necessary. Mine seems to be worse from early to late evening , a moist heating pad seems to relieve the pain, but not the throat clearing.

dont sleep on your side.. try to sleep on you back, and if you cant stop it, put pillows down both sides of you....

that may help shoulder blade...

cant help your throat.

smoking...more women than men smoke in australia...i dont get it. do yourself a favour, stop.. it will be hard, but its your lungs -a personal instrument of yours that you are damaging that cant be repalced.

quit.
