Ctscan found a 7mm on my lung nodule

I have had a lot of pain in the left side of my neck and jaw, with a lump above my left side of collar bone. Pain started over 2weeks ago. But as i was waiting for my breast biopys results, doctor couldnt do anything but give me pain killers and wasnt that intrested in the lump. My breast biopys came back  fine. So now i have to go back and doctor again to sort out the pain ive got. I had a ctscan in Febuary to find out how much damge ive got to my kidney due to kidney stone. Anyway doctors found a 7mm thing on my lung nodule. Doctor has requested another ct scan in 6mths, is that an ok time to wait? Are doctors leaving it for the amount of time to see if it changes in size?  Im 34years and a smoker for past 15years.

Thank you for your last reply .I had a call on tuesday from outpaitants at my local hospital. The Respritory doctor (hes the same doctor who is dealing with my niece and nephews nan who has terminal lung cancer) wants to see me on 16th June. What can i expect when i see him? What will he do? I have since found another lump above my collar bone this time on my rightside. Having bad pain everyday on and off in my legs, hips, neck, back also get discomfort under my ribs. Should i mention this all to the doctor?

If I were you I would request a biopsy of the lung nodule. Even though you are young, you have a smoking history. Yes, they are waiting to see if it grows. Just remember that if it is indeed cancer, lung cancer does spread fairly fast. Good luck to you.
