LUNG NODULE

I had a recent MRI for my breasts as I usually do every 6 months, due to stable nodule and family history.  During this a nodule was found on lower right lobe lung.  I am going for a cat scan on Friday.  Question is, I had a chest x ray last year, normal, and breast MRI, six months ago and this was not found.  Is that unusual for it to show up so quickly?  Thank you for any input.

Hi,
There are certain conditions which could cause the nodule to appear suddenly. A pneumonia or tubercular lesion for instance would devlelop in a similar time period. The CT scan would help to identify the type of lesion - whether it is a mass lesion or ptach of consolidation or pneumonia. Go ahead with the CT scan and let the reports come in. Goodluck.
