Lung Ca with mets to the bone

What is the prognosis for an untreated, unstaged dx of Lung CA with mets to the adrenal gland and Thoracic Spine
in a 56 year old women with a TOB HX of atleast 1PPD times 40 years... patient is a ps 1. S.O.B. noted with exertion, easily fatigued.

First let me say that I am sorry to hear of anyone who has lung cancer and mets.  I know that bone cancer can be very painful, and I hope this person is getting the medical support she needs to deal with the pain.  Unfortunately I don't have an answer to your question.  Mostly I'm responding to give you support in this difficult situation.

I'm not a doctor but if I were, I would probably need a lot more information, like a physical exam, labwork, and imaging studies, before I could begin to answer your question about prognosis.  Maybe a doctor could predict life expectancy for different types of cancers, but people are so variable in their general state of health, and there are always stories of someone doing better than expected, like Patrick Swayze.  

Does this person have access to medical care? What other support do you and this woman need?  Prayers for you both...
