Lung Nodules, Cough, and Feeling Terrible for Almost 7 weeks

I am a 35 years old non-smoker and normally stay pretty healthy.  However, I went to the ER Oct 19 because of pain under my left ribs.  Multiple tests, inlcuding a xray and chest ct w/contrast, were run to rule out a heart attack.  My heart checked out fine but scattered nodularity ( I was later told 3 nodules) within the posterior aspect of the right lower lobe, with the lowest bein 17 mm.  I followed up with a lung doctor within a week and was diagnosed with pneumonia but not given antibiotics.  It is now 6 1/2 weeks and I still just as horrible as I was in the beginning.  I cough frequently and sometimes produce white foamy (occasionally somewhat yellow) phlehm.  I ache and have some chest/back pain.  I had a repeat ct 2 days ago which states that the nodularity within the right lower lobe is stable.  It also says, "There is a cone shape distribution of nodular densitites extending away from the hilum towards the periphery of the right lung with the nodules getting larger as one approaches the pleural margin of the lung."  It mentions possible granulomatous disease or histoplasmosis.  It also recommends a pet scan to check metabollic activity.
My original doctor will not see me for another 2 weeks and I'm terribly worried about the situation.  He didn't even give me antibiotics to begin with.  I went to my family doctor and got a ZPAK and Cipro which neither seems to touch this.  I am very frustrated my lung doctor.
What does all of this mean?  Is it something I should be taking a medicine for or should I have more procedures done?  My Dad is in the latter stages of COPD and I see how he suffers daily with his lungs.  If something is wrong, I don't want to wait.  I want to be proactive.  Please help with advise.
