Pet Scan results

by bluemoon1960, Jun 08, 2009 07:55AM
My pet scan reported  that there is mild to moderate activity noted involving the right perihilar region. This is the most prominet at the posterior aspect of the right hilum. On the CT images there is patchy parenchymal density in this area. Maxium SUV is 2.8 without focal intense activity. This activity is nonspecific but likely an inflammatory basis and my be related to radiation therapy. Follow up is helpful in this reguard. My oncolagist said that this was good. should I seek a second opinion on this report.

2.8 is just a bit over 2.5 which I read was probably benign.  I am worried about a 1.3 cm nodule with an uptake of 3.2.  I wonder if this reading could also be benign.  Does anyone know for sure?

Have you had a biopsy yet to determine if it is cancer.

No, I haven't had a biopsy yet because they found lymph glands in my abdomen on my PET and the lung nodule is on the back burner for now until they biopsy my lymph gland.  It's always something to worry about!  Are you going to get a lung biopsy and how do they do it?

Already Had it , They put you alsleep and run a small camera up the nose and down your throut. Total time for prep and recovery was about 3 hours. Not really a big deal. Mine was non small cell cancer, went through radiation and chemo. Now we are in the followup stage.
