Pinkish blood in sputum

I have a question. Some mornings I wake up, and have a vomiting sensation. It's usually stomach acid and yellowish foam. Sometimes blood comes out. But this morning, every time I would snort and spit out, pinkish blood would come out. Like all day long. I don't think it's coming from my lungs or chest. I think from my nose (because when I snort to cough it out) can this be coming from my throat. I recently got sick a few weeks ago and had a bad cough. Are these signs of cancer caused by smoking ? or is it a nasal infection? Can someone ease my mind and help me out? Please, thank you.
