I am 23 yr old...smoking on an average thrice a weak for 3 years...recently X ray showed this -

- Prominant  Bronchovascular Markings
- Hyler gland ( inflamation or swelling ..something to do with hyler)

I have been advised not to smoke.
Could this develop into some serious problem in future ? What are the steps to be taken to reduce these markings..?
What to eat and what not to ?

Please help...very worried.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,
How are you? What are the symptoms present? Prominence of bronchovascular markings may be associated with viral infection like pneumonia as well as chronic bronchitis and emphysema. It is also recommended that you stop smoking as well as to eat a healthy diet and drink plenty of fluids. It is best that you discuss the result with your doctor for proper evaluation. Take care and do keep us posted.
