Subpleural Nodule

Hello, I had an MRI for neck pain and a 1 cm subpleural nodule in the right lung apex was found. I've been told to see my doctor about it (the doctor who found it is an osteo specialist - not his field.) What is the likelihood that a nodule that small would be malignant? Are nodules like this commonly found? Thanks!
