What does this mean?

What does the following mean?

Mass in lower right hilum extending into right lower lobe.
Appearances consistent with primary lung tumor.
Subcarinal lymphadenopathy present.

There are enlarged subcarinal lymph nodes, the largest measuring 3.5 x 2.3 cm.

Hi,

This image you described is suggestive of lung cancer (this is what is meant by "primary lung tumor" - the lymphadenopathy is suggestive of spread of disease to the lymph nodes) . The diagnosis however would require a biopsy. No amount of imaging would make the diagnosis certain.

The person from whom this image was taken should see a doctor straightaway and discuss the best method/approach to obtaining the biopsy.
