Worried about cancer

I am 39 years old and last year I went to the A&E with a problem to do with my finger. It had gone pale white and docs said that my pulse had shut down in my right wrist. They seemed unphased and sent me to specialist to check me over. I had numerous blood tests done and finally a CAT scan on neck and chest with contrast to rule out anything bad. Doc came back and said that had no idea what had happened but that my arteries had regrown back in and dealt with problem. He seemed to have no idea about what cause of this was.

My concern is that around about the same time ( a week or 2 later after CAT scan) I noticed a slight dull feeling in my right back. I ignored this and assumed it would go away. It comes and goes. It's not painful or anything just a twinge. I was worried as an ex-smoker that this might be realted to lungs. Anyway, to cut a long story short, I waited a few months and then went back to GP. He listened to lungs with stethescope and said my lungs sounded clear and not cause for concern. He said that the dull ache/twinge was probably most likely due to stress or muscular problems or even bad posture. I am a real worrier and keep thinking I have lung cancer. I make a point of prodding my back each day to check there are no signs of lumps etc and cough each day deliberately to bring up phlegm just to see if there is any blood there! Tonight I coughed and there was a tiny trace of blood present. I am worried senseless. My questions are:
1. Does listening to lungs with stethescope give an idea of lung cancer starting?
2. If I had lung cancer would my CAT scan not have shown this last year, if I was getting serious problems now?

I have not lost any weight - in fact have put weight on (1.5 stone).
I do not have a cough.
I don't have any pain when breathing in or any shortnes of breath.
I don't have any dizziness or nausea.

It is just this twinge in my top right back. The twinge seems to change location too. Not always in exact same bit of back.

Am I just getting myself into a panic and making myself ill? I am the sort of person who goes on web and reads up on lung cancer and then imagines the worst. In short should I take my docs advice and accept that I have nothing to worry about. He said also that it was very unlikely to get cancer at my age (altho' not impossible) but nonrtheless quite unusual. I am so worried and upset by all of this and think about nothing else all day but this. Please I would appreciate any info at all that anyone might be able to give me who have maybe experienced the same.
Thanks

Hi i too have painless twinge with blood in phlegm on occassion. I recently learned that my posture does effect this issue based on the fact that I've now been seeing a corrective spine care doctor & they teach about how the spine houses all our nerves  from the brain down that's why sometimes people become paralyzed after a neck injury because the nerves have been damaged that intereferes with the communication between our brains which control the nerves which control every organ in ou body. Best suggestion see a Maximized Living doctor and get xray exam results to find out if there's
nerve interfeance going on. So far my neck is where it needs to be! Now we start working more on spine. I have suffered from asthma from child i can tell when i miss too many days of my homecare exercises or miss too many appiontments or eat too much sugar because it gets harder to breath. I'm  so happy to have answers and a solution. The biggest help has been changing to their recommended diet of high healthy fats-no vegetable oil, coconut oil for high heat. No heating olive oil because its chemical structure turns carcinogenic once cooked. Avoid all processed grains, bread, flours, and sugars. No sweet fruits unless a little for breakfast. Stick to granny smith apples, berries, avocados & lemons & limes. From day one of this diet alone i actually can perform daily tasks without pain

A post nasal drip sinus infection can produce a little blood in your sputum. Usually blood test are pretty good at catching most diseases of the lungs including cancer markers.

Hmmm, I have a suggestion if you don't mind. How about changing your diet to alkaline foods including water and beverages. Do away with all acidic foods and beverages. Test your Ph daily with test strips. (iherb sells vaxa international Ph test strips - the best)

After a week or two, please post a progress report.

Hope this helps!
