bad reaction to chemo for secondary liver tumour only to be told he may have adenocarcinoma. Really need advise?

My father is seriously ill in hospital and has been told many times that there is noothing they can do for him.  he was diagnosed with a seondary 10cm tumour in his liver so he underwent chemo to get rid of this tumour.  three weeks ago when he recieved chemo is was a well man and then he started to get all the side effects of chemo leading to him being rushed in to hospital.it appears he has had a reaction to the chemo given to him.  he has extremely low blood pressure levels and is not making enough cells in his blood so he is recieving blood transfusions and platelets.  only to be the other day that he has adenocarcinoma...what can we do for it ? we need to know what can be done to help this man get better and pull through.
thanks, this is a matter of life and death as the doctors really dont know what they are doing .
