bronchial tumor

the doctors found a small tumor on my right lung next to the bronchial tube causing pneumonia. I had a needle biopsy yeasterday.  Do you think this will be malignant?  I am beside myself with worry. I quit smoking four years ago, but amm very much worried. If it is cancer, do you think it will be operable?  I would appreciate your feedback.

Hi,

This is a difficult situation for you but you need to stay positive while you await the results of the biopsy. If this turns out to be cancer, the operability would depend on the size of the tumor, the location, stage of the disease, presence of additional tumors or metastasis elsewhere, lymph node status, lung function etc.
