Hi,

I'm not sure if I understand your post enough.

Are you saying you had intestine?colon cancer? in the past? Now being evaluated for a lung mass? A bronchoscopy yielded no findings? and you were told that the lymph nodes  did not seem involved?

If you had colon cancer, it would be atypical to have lung involvement without any liver involvement. If this is the case, the issue is more of a new primary cancer involving the lung. The chance of it is still present, since it sounds (based on your description) early disease (which would translate to early treatment conferring greater gains), a biopsy would indeed be indicated to settle the issue.

Hi,

Unfortunately the risk is still real.

The chemotherapy is focused for a colon cancer, and the drugs that are used do not confer protection for lung cancer. Colon cancer tends to produce small clusters of metastasis - it is atypical Hence, the biopsy was explored.

The biopsy would of course involve a needle. Local anesthesia to the area to be punctured is usually given. I'm uncertain whether your previous biopsy for the prostate would make you less anxious or more so.

Stay positive.

My husband was told he had a tumor in his  right lung and two treatments of chemotherapy, it seemed as though they felt it was gone. Now they want to do further testing.
My husband had a cold and we went in for x-rays and blood work and one of the "findings" said:  Mild interstitial thickening, without consolidating infiltrates, no masses or pulmonary nodules are noted.
What does this mean in our "understanding"?
